Multiple sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis is a disease that affects the brain and spinal cord, leading to various symptoms that can significantly impact daily life.
Studies have found that multiple sclerosis involves damage to the protective covering of nerves, known as myelin, which disrupts communication between the brain and other parts of the body. This disruption can lead to a wide range of symptoms including vision problems, muscle weakness, and difficulties with balance and coordination. Research also highlights that inflammation plays a key role in causing this damage, though the exact triggers for inflammation remain unclear.
This disease is strongly linked to inflammation, which drives much of its progression and symptomatology. Additionally, multiple sclerosis affects both adults and children, although it tends to be more common among adults.
While numerous studies have contributed to our understanding of multiple sclerosis, there remains a need for further research to fully elucidate the mechanisms behind this complex disease.
